Postal 2 dude art11/9/2023 Plus just kind of a smaller thing but i think the Boss's hair, while having the bald spot, is closer to Redux's slicked back hair instead of Postal 1 dude's shaggy hair and the visual + text based connections back to Postal 1 can just as easily be applied to Redux as well.īut ultimately? I just try not to think about it too much. Due to the game using 2016 as it's time as well as the more almost dreamlike atmosphere and ending, Redux could be more a post-massacre remembering of a time with a more ambiguous date. Ive personally always kind of seen Redux being the re-introduction of Postal 1's ideas into the more absurd world of Postal 2 onwards while specifically Postal 1997 in its own, exists in its own outside bubble. Postal 4 outright confirms the grave means nothing timeline wise in terms of when Postal 2 + 4 Dude was born, as when Dude asks The Boss about it to the effect of "But aren't you supposed to be dead?" He replies with "Are you talking about your Step dad?", implying the grave in Postal 2 is meant to be for his step father, not The Boss, who is his biological father. My own personal take on the idea is Dude's (biological) father is specially Redux postal dude, while the father that shows up in Postal 2 is a non specific Dude. Of note is the lack of load zone signs on the bridge to the Estates this, combined with the name of the load zone image that leads from Home to Chicken Queen Estates, seems to imply that these two maps were not separated when these pictures were taken.Im not sure if youd played Postal 4 OP so im going to spoiler this just in case (i hope it works, sorry if it doesnt i havent done it in a bit), but ive thought it over myself and wanted to give my input. The image used in the load zone that leads from the Main Street to the Office Complex shows the bridge heading to Chicken Queen Estates without a roof, the large wall to the left of the bridge absent, and different text underneath the image of Gary Coleman. The load zone images used in the one leading from the Ghetto to the Greenbelt most notably shows an early Meat World sign, but also has lighter bushes and a different, much shorter wall at the Asylum. Most of these were taken in early versions of the map, giving a glimpse into what they looked like pre-release. Load zones use screenshots of the map the zone leads to in order to create the illusion of a continuous map. Get in-game screenshots and more load zones One of them is in FP_Weapons.ukx, and the other is in MP_Weapons interestingly, the animation in the latter was not present in the Share the Pain version of the game, meaning that it was added sometime after the game's Complete release. The Pistol actually has two unused animations for reloading it. Some of these can be triggered by using the "forcereload" command in the console. The weapons ported from Eternal Damnation still have their reload animations, but go unused here. It consists of the weapon animations that were used prior to the Share the Pain version of the game the new animations are stored in MP_Weapons.ukx.Īnimations for reloading the weapons that do not need to do so (the Machine Gun, Shotgun, etc.) still exist most of them are found in the aforementioned FP_Weapons.ukx package, though some of them are present in different packages. Unused Animations Pre-Share the Pain Weapon AnimationsįP_Weapons.ukx is an entire animation package that goes completely unused. The latest one that focuses on the Dude's less linear journey through parts of Paradise we've already seen.
